Plant Description
Obedient Flower or Obedient Plant, (also known as ‘False Dragonhead’) has lovely lavender-pink spikes of flowers on emerald-green, lance-like foliage throughout the summer. Blooms on this pond plant have a snapdragon-like appearance and upright habitat. Once Obedient Flower is established, flower spikes can be 10 inches tall with foliage growing 2 – 4 feet tall. Obedient Flower has a nice clumping habitat and spreads by root and rhizome. Obedient Flower is a favorite for honey bees and hummingbirds!
Planting Instructions
Plant this perky, little pond plant in full to part sun in rich,moist, loamy soil. Great for bog areas or for naturalizing in areas around an earth bottom pond.
Plant in an 8 inch fabric pot or something of similar size on the ledge with no more than 3 inches of water above the soil. Outside the pond in your flowerbed this will also do well if watered a few times a week.
